Fort Worth, TX - The start of the Brittany Foster era for Central Girls Basketball is off to a flying start as the Lady Chargers claimed the consultation bracket title in the Paschal Tournament this past weekend and are outscoring opponents 433-160 across their first seven games. The Chargers went into the Paschal Tournament on the back of wins over Birdville (1-2) and Arlington Seguin (0-2), and started the tournament with a dominant 64-12 victory over Lake Worth (1-3). Later in the day, they faced off against O.D. Wyatt (3-3) and again kept their opponents under 20 total points, registering a 52-17 victory. Friday morning, Central faced off against Alvarado (3-4), who were coming off their own dominant 72-14 over Western Hills Thursday night, and came up just short, failing to the Indians 53-58. Central returned to winning ways on Saturday, as they defeated Arlington (1-2) 65-18, and faced off once again with Lake Worth in the Consolation Bracket Championship and defeated the Bullfrogs by a 42 point margin, 58-16.
Their four wins in the Paschal Tournament brings their season total to six, already surpassing their 2021-22 season total of four, and has the Chargers off to the best start to a season since 2012-13 when Central also started 6-1.
The Chargers return to The Bolt tonight as they take on Carrollton Creekview (0-1) at 6:30PM. The Mustangs come into the contest after failing 61-38 to Princeton in their season opener.
