Haslet, TX - Charger Lady's Basketball (23-10, 5-5) picked up the second consecutive district road win Tuesday night defeating the V.R. Eaton Eagles (11-12,2-6) 44-38 in overtime. Central have now won three of the last four contests, with all three victories coming on the road. The Chargers defeated Timber Creek in overtime 48-40 and followed that up with a 58-43 victory in Haltom City over the Buffalos.
Junior guard
Aubrey Wathen has been a key contributor for the Chargers over the last few games, including a 26 point performance paired with 5 steals and 5 assists against Haltom, resulting in Wathen's nomination for the Fort Worth Star Telegram's DFW Girl's High School Player of the Week.
The Lady Charger's currently sit in fifth in the district standings with four games remaining in the regular season, just one spot out of the playoffs. If the Charger's are able to jump Fossil Ridge in the standings, they'd make just their second postseason appearance in program history.
