Fort Worth, TX - The season opener for the 2023 edition of Charger Football is just 122 days away as Head Coach Mike Sports released the 2023 schedule this week. The Chargers will open their 2023 campaign at the Keller ISD Athletic Complex in a rematch of their 2022 season opener taking on Weatherford. The game will serve to honor all of the students in the Charger feeder pattern as they take on a Kangaroo side that went 7-3 overall and finished fifth in District 3-6A play.
In week two, Central will take on a Plano side the edged them out by just one point in 2022 in Plano before wrapping up the non-district portion of their schedule against Arlington Lamar on homecoming night. The Vikings and Chargers were locked in a tight affair through three quarters with a 9-15 scoreline before the Viking offense exploded in the fourth quarter to take a 27-9 victory.
The Chargers will open District Four play on the road against Haltom before returning home to take on the Keller Indians on September 22. The Chargers took down the Buffalos on Homecoming night last year 31-16.
After their bye week, Central will hit the road on back-to-back weeks to take on the Eaton Eagles and defending district champion Southlake Dragons before hosting Byron Nelson for senior night. The last road game of the year sees the Chargers return to the KISD Athletic Complex to take on Fossil Ridge before closing out the regular season against Timber Creek.
The Chargers are currently in their first week of spring football and will play their spring game May 18th at 7PM.
