Southlake, TX - Senior
Angelina Vidal is wrapping up her Charger Cross Country career with a bang as she broke the programs 5000 Meter record with a time of 18:14, finishing 6th overall and qualifying for the Regional meet. Vidal trimmed off over a minute from her previous best 5000 Meter time in 2023, and ran a faster time than the 18:34 she registered during a shorter, three mile race (4800 meters) on the same course in August.

While every race is new and unique, and every course presents a unique challenge when you factor in weather, terrain, and everything else, Vidal's time when compared to the 2022 UIL Regional Meet and State Championship Meet results looks incredibly promising. If Vidal were to run a similar time at both the upcoming regional meet at Mae Simmons Park in just over a week, and the State Championship meet in Round Rock in early November, past results would point towards a top ten finish in both meets. An 18:14 time would have placed Vidal in 9th at the Regional Meet and 7th at the State meet in 2022.
On the boy's side of things, the Galegher brothers finished the year in the same fashion they started the year, leading the Charger's with the elder, Liam, just edging out the young Jackson by 9-seconds. The future looks incredibly bright for Central as they return six of their seven runners, and three of their top four runners are either a freshman or sophomore.
