Fort Worth, TX - The Chargers (23-5) extended their winning streak to ten games Tuesday night, but it didn't come easy as they made the short trip to Euless and picked up a five game victory over the Trinity Trojans (9-18). While Central still has on non-district game remaining against Mesquite Horn in the middle of October, they Chargers will

now turn their attention to district play. As they prepare for the district opener against Fossil Ridge (13-14) Friday night, they do so knowing they've had one of the most successful non-district campaigns in program history.

Opening the district schedule with Fossil Ridge will be no easy task. The two sides split the season series in 2022, with the home team winning on both occasions. The Panthers finished fifth in the district standings last year, one spot out of the UIL postseason and one spot higher than the Chargers 6th place finish. Additionally, if common opponents is any indication, this is going to be another close contest.

Marshall Leads Texas In Digs
In her second season as a key contributor for the Chargers, senior
Azia Marshall has put the entire state on notice with her defensive performances. Marshall currently leads all of Texas in digs with 597, nearly 50 digs more than any other player, and is just 18 digs shy of the 1000 career digs mark.
Stat milestones arrived or are just around the corner for a few more Chargers. Junior
Jaylani Evans, a three year varsity contributor, collected both her 800th career dig and 700th career kill in the victory over Trinity. Junior
Addy Richardson sits on 421 assists for the season, and has the 500 mark well within her sights.
After taking on Fossil Ridge on the road Friday night at 5:00PM, the Chargers will return home where they've been unbeat in 2023, and have played their matches in front of a rowdy Charger Student section to take on Eaton High school Tuesday, September 12. First serve is set for 5PM at The Bolt.
